Reef Clean Up Gili Air with Oceans 5 Dive

Yesterday Oceans 5 dive resort organized another reef clean up. Instructor Phil, Divemaster Yvonne and Divemaster Trainee Budi took care of 7 other divers who wanted to help.

The clean up started at 16.00. At that time the preparation started with preparing the bags, the gloves and all the equipment. At 16.30 Divemaster Yvonne gave a dive briefing about how everyone should take the rubbish away, the bottom time, the max depth and buddy teams.

The first divers came after 44 minutes out of th water. They had 3 bags full of rubbish. After this each buddy team and the result was shocking……

After we had last time 15 bags of rubbish now the divers collected another 12 bags of rubbish! It looks a little bit better in the front of Oceans 5 dive resort, but still a lot of work has to be done.

Another reef clean up in the front of Oceans 5 dive resort

Every week Oceans 5 dive resort tries to organise a beach and reef clean up in the front of their dive resort.

Last week 16 persons joined the the reef clean up. The group was split up in smaller groups with all their own local divemaster. The result of the clean up was 12 bags of rubbish. Its all kind of rubbish.

The dive site looks a bit better now and Oceans 5 dive resort like to thank all the the people who joined the clean up and think about the environment around the Gili Islands.

Beach and Reef clean up with Oceans 5 dive resort at Gili Islands

Oceans 5 dive resort organised anothe dive against debris dive. 16 People joined the beach and reef clean up. The clean up was in the front of Oceans 5 dive resort, the Harbor of Gili Air. The clean up is free and divers as non divers are welcome to help.

After a few clean ups the result is almost there. There is less and less rubbish in the front of Oceans 5 dive resort, and the more and more fish life is comming back. Special marine life what is been spotted during the clean up, 4 kind of Seahorses and Ornate Ghost Pipefish.

Oceans 5 is proud that all the work that everybody has put in to clean the Harbor has a result. Oceans 5 wants to thank everyone who helped them with the clean ups in the past, now and in the future.

Another successful Beach and Reef Clean Up at Oceans 5 dive resort, Gili Islands

Yesterday Oceans 5 organised another Beach and Reef Clean Up in the front of the dive resort. Customers, Staff, divemaster trainees and instructors were joining.

 

Instructor Fanny gave to everyone clear instructions before the Clean Up started, and buddy teams were formed.The goal is collect all the rubbish in front of Oceans 5. Its oceans 5 house reef and its famous for muck diving. You will find here all kind of little creatures you never have seen before.

The result of the Clean Up was 8 bags full of garbage.
