You can start your divemaster course at home by registering yourself at the SSI website or SSI App for the Digital Divemaster program. This programs takes you through the academic part of the divemaster course by text, pictures and videos. It costs a bit more comparing the other way of studying the theory at our tropical paradise. The “Zero to Hero” program at Oceans 5 Gili Air offers an incredible opportunity for individuals to transform their passion for diving into a professional career as a Divemaster. Designed for those starting with little or no diving experience, this comprehensive program takes candidates from beginner to Divemaster in one continuous journey. The program is structured to build a strong foundation in diving, starting with entry-level courses like the SSI Open Water Diver, and gradually advancing through more challenging courses such as Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and ultimately the Divemaster certification.
Throughout the Divemaster Internship program, candidates are immersed in the world of diving, gaining hands-on experience in a variety of dive environments and scenarios. Oceans 5โs experienced instructors provide personalized guidance and mentorship, ensuring that each candidate progresses at their own pace while mastering the necessary skills. After completing your SSI Divemaster course, you’ll be well-prepared to advance to a Dive Instructor! The Instructor Training Course (ITC) spans 16 days and is led by our in-house Instructor Trainers, who conducts the course monthly. If you trained as a Divemaster at our dive center, you’ll find the Instructor Course smooth and manageable. The only prerequisite is that you must be certified for at least six months before starting your instructor training.
During the 6-8 weeks of your Divemaster course, you can log up to 100 dives, as we conduct 3 to 4 dives daily
During the divemaster course there is a chance to increase your diving knowledge and your diving skills. It is called the master diver! You become a master diver if you are advanced open water, rescue diver, plus 5 specialties and 50 logged dives.
We teach you all different kind of specialties like nitrox, drift, underwater photography, self-reliant, side mount, shark conservation and more. You can use all this extra information later in your career as a divemaster.
